Chocolate Cakes Around The World
Chocolate Storage
I am a person who can’t live a day without chocolate. I buy in quantity, and I would like to discuss with you the seriousness of always storing your chocolate correctly. I have had plenty of experiences when my chocolates went bad and I had to bin them. I’ve learnt plenty of paths to keep my precious chocolates well taken care of!
There are a large amount of paths to preserve the quality of a dark chocolate product which I’m going to state below. These tips truly work for my chocolate storage needs and I actually hope it will work for you too!
The 1st clear thing NOT to do for perfect chocolate product care is to expose it on a place with bright daylight. In case it is not apparent, chocolates usually melt when heated up, so exposing it to daylight is like melting it on a frying pan. I do not wish to drink my chocolate bar, which explains why it is best to store it in a cool, dry place. But in case you are living in an extremely warm area and own no aircon, you may want to place it within the chiller or cooler. Just be absolutely sure to use an air-tight container for this process. This will help in forestalling condensation to happen on the chocolate, which might affect the quality of the product.
Chocolates absorb odors and moisture easily, and if ever I will not be consuming my chocolate for a couple of days, I always keep it in a firmly wrapped container. Who needs to eat a chocolate bar that tastes like last night’s remains?
The life-span of a chocolate differs significantly from one type to another, so just to be sure that the quality of the product is intact. It is best that we refer to the ‘best before’ seal written on each pack. And whether or not the product is chilled, we should consume it on or prior to the expiry date and never think about its quality.
For my very own sake, I always follow these steps in taking good care of my chocolates especially when I plan to eat it after two days or weeks. I’m hoping this has been helpful for all my chocolate-loving comrades out there!
