Ancient Dessert Recipes? Best Answer!?

For Social Studies I need to make food/drinks for the class from one of these ancient civilizations: Rome, Egypt, or Incas/Mayans/Aztecs. I prefer dessert recipes but it could be something like bread or something, basically food that most everyone will like that is easy enough to make. Also, I'm trying to avoid nuts in the recipe because of alergies. Some of my ideas include: Hot chocolaate (Aztecs/Incas/Mayans) Cake (Egypt&Rome) Sparkling grape juice (as wine for Rome) Breadcake (Rome) Pastries (Rome) Bread with goat cheese on top (Rome) What do you think will taste the best? Also do you have any suggestions? Do you know of any recipes for any of my ideas/your suggestions? Thanks! Best answer receives 10 points!! :)

Wikipedia has an excellent article on Ancient Roman and Ancient Greek cooking. Desserts were mainly fruit, and honey was the sweetener. (They didn't have sugar) I don't think you should do the wine unless you bring in a good article on how they REALLY made it, which is very interesting.
